Lord Numb stealing the wheels. Of steel?

And unto me the Lord (Numb) spake thus…
“Hey there my DEDPOP chums, here is my first foray into the realms of broadcasting, please pop by and give it a lickle tickle.”

Get on my Facebook

It seems that Facebook have finally come up with a good solution for musical types like us, Facebook Pages. We now have our very own slice of ‘book which you can visit to enter into all the usual wall-writing, photo-tagging, vampire-hugging madness! There is a complete discography, discussion board and music player too. Come on over you lovely folks!

That was nice!

So, a big thanks to Richard Pitt and Gary Smith from BBC Bristol and Lee at Diversity FM for featuring us and our lovely artists on their shows this week. It’s awesome to know that people in control of actual radio like the Dedpop sound!

There’s another BBC Introducing show on tonight 1am-3am which will include more Dedpop sounds. Both BBC shows will be available on ‘Listen again‘ for the next week and the Diversity FM show is available for download from Lee’s Myspace.

Other radio bidness.

In addition to the BBC thing (which is awesome!) there will be a 30 minute live set from Sean Eskimo on Diversity FM tonight. Mr Eskimo will be the featured act on tonight’s 2 hour Musicbox show which goes out from 23:00 and is repeated midnight on Saturday.

The BBC comes a-calling!

Hello good friends! I come bearing interesting news. I have received an email from Richard at BBC Bristol Introducing informing me that they are planning to feature Dedpop on both the Saturday and Sunday show this weekend. They should be playing tracks from a few different Dedpop artists.

The shows go out live on the radio in the Bristol and Bath area very very early Saturday and Sunday morning (or very very late Friday and Saturday if you’re still up) 1am - 3am but can be heard online for a whole week afterwards by clicking ‘Listen again’ at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/entertainment/local_music/

Tell everyone!

Pete

Redesign

I thought it was about time the site was freshened up a little so I’ve done a rework. It almost certainly won’t work properly in Internet Explorer but I’m a bit pushed for time at the moment. If you want to see it looking really lovely, take a look in Safari for Mac or Windows. There’s some tasty CSS3 stuff going on which you can’t see in other browsers.

Hope you like it!

Get some perspective

New release from Mid-Air

New EP from Mid-Air available for download right now! Perspective and texture blends mellow lounge stylings with crunchy 8-bit bleepyness and classic breaks to create a sound that is both familiar and forward thinking.

Gig

I’m doing a gig tomorrow night (Friday) in Derby in case anyone is in the area. It’s at the big blue coffee company on Sadler Gate from 20:30. If I remember to record the set I will make it available to download from the site.

If anyone else is doing any live stuff, let me know! :)

Kesta and Doss-House EPs

Yoyoyo! Two new EPs are available right now from Kesta and Doss-House.

Kesta gives us ‘A Downbeat Murmur‘ which is a charming melodic journey through an electronic garden full of colours and shapes. That dance. Also check out the ‘Toasted‘ compilation (ded001) for another Kesta track.

Doss-House makes his Dedpop debut with his self-titled ‘Doss-House EP‘. Melodies abound here too with some classic synthy sounds messing with your mind, in a fun way. I particularly recommend ‘Wednesday’. It’s ace!
